Broward Science/Engineering Fair ONLINE Registration opens
December 20, 2009

If you are a participating school in the Broward Fair, you will be given a user name and password to be used for registration. All public schools and any private and charter schools who have completed the pre-registration with the office of student activities will be issued a user name and password for registration. Registration is done by clicking "Registration Online" on the left hand menu of the www.BrowardScience.com website.

Private and charter school preregistration forms may be found by clicking "private" or "charter school" on the left hand menu of the Browardscience.com website. If you missed the deadline for pre-registration (November 1, 2009), and still wish to compete this year, please contact JP Keener at

Broward Science/Engineering Fair February 11-14, 2010

Coral Ridge Mall 3200 N. Federal Highway Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33306

Thursday - Feb. 11, 2010: Projects will be registered, inspected for safety and set-up for display on Feb. 11, 2010 from 3pm - 8pm. Projects not displayed at this time will not be judged in the official fair. Projects entered after this time may be displayed, but will not be judged. To best prepare for the safety inspection, see "essential forms" for the "project board checklist." For additional information, see "essential forms" for the "fair day checklist.

Friday - Feb. 12, 2010: Students will be judged. Middle School judging begins at 830 am and concludes by 12pm. High School judging begins at 1230pm and concludes at 4pm. Students are asked to be at their projects and ready 30 minutes prior to the judging time. Projects without student representation will not be judged. Judges will use the judging rubric found by clicking "judging rubric" on the left hand menu of the www.BrowardScience.com website. You can best prepare for the fair day by viewing the "fair day checklist" found at the essential forms link on this site.

Saturday - Feb. 13, 2010: Projects are on display for the public. There is no need for student representation. There will be no judging on this date. The projects are viewed by the community in an open forum.

Sunday - Feb. 14, 2010: Displayed projects are collected by the participants along with any awards/ribbons or certificates that have been awarded by the Judges. Project collection is from 12pm to 4pm.

Projects not collected on Sunday by 4pm will be discarded. This is very unfortunate, and I wish there were another way to handle this, but the mall can not store the projects, and we have no way to deliver them. They will be discarded. However, any awards, ribbons or certificates will be mailed directly to the school to be given to the students. All awards will be posted on the www.BrowardScience.com website. Click "awards" to see past winners. The new awardees will be listed here.
